This historical site, once an important ironworks during the 19th century, has been revitalized with modern design elements while preserving its rich heritage. The project was spearheaded by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, with Meyer Contracting Corporation handling the construction. Black Locust Lumber contributed premium decking and boardwalk materials, enhancing the site's functionality and aesthetic. These materials were chosen for their durability and environmental benefits, aligning with the project's sustainability goals. The new boardwalk and observation tower provide visitors with a unique vantage point to explore and appreciate the historical significance and natural beauty of the West Point Foundry Preserve.
