Facebook Menlo Park, California Headquarters

”We design and build sustainable workplaces that are healthier for both our employees and the environment.”

Designed by world famous architect, Frank Gehry, and Partners, this building was to be a large one-room building that resembles a warehouse. Completed in 2015, the requirement for this project was to design and build healthy, sustainable workspaces that would enhance employee’s lives and inspire collaboration. Black Locust Lumber, opened the door and assisted to provide a solution with elevated walkways made of naturally rot-resistant Black Locust, which is an organic product, that does not require treatment or finishes to increase its longevity.

The 420,000 square feet of space is a completely open plan and provides workspaces for Facebook’s 2,800 member, Menlo Park engineering staff.

Facebook achieved LEED® Platinum – the highest level of certification – at Menlo Park, California Headquarters.
